The HCT Winter Championship will be broadcast live from Blizzard Arena Los Angeles. The competitors will be competing for their share of $250,000 and 251 Hearthstone Competitive Points for the next period. The event will be broadcast Feb. 28 through Mar. 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. PT daily (17:30 p.m. CET – 5:30 p.m. CET / 11:30 a.m. ET – 11:30 p.m. ET). Let’s take a look at the Americas!
Brian “Bloodyface” Eason
Bloodyface is a competitor from the United States. He is most known for his run in the 2018 Fall Championship where he made it to the finals but lost out to Languagehacker, who is now his teammate on Team Lazarus together with Seohyun. Bloodyface is the first seed player from the Americas region and will be facing off in Group B later this month.
Matt “Noblord” Koutsoutis
Noblord has been around the competitive scene of Hearthstone for a long time. He is best known for his time competing in the collegiate scene. Back in April 2017, he as captain led his team to its first championship title in the 2017 Tespa Collegiate Series. More recently Noblord has competed in the Twitch Hearthstone events such as the Dungeon Run Challenge, of which he made an extensive guide used by many players around the world to obtain the Dungeon Master card back.
Bobby “Bobbyex” Du
Bobbyex is a competitor from Canada. Very little is known about him besides his performances at HCT Oakland 2018 and his top 64 placement at last year’s preliminaries for America. Since the preliminaries event earlier in January, a few decks have received nerfs to their strength to change how the game is played. Bobbyex is one of the players that is hit harder than most as two of the decks he used to qualify will no longer see play once the patch is released on Feb. 5. We will have to wait and see how Bobbyex adapts and what strategy he can come up with to accomplish further success at his biggest tournament yet.
Mark “Ike” Eichner
Ike is a veteran of competitive Hearthstone currently competing for the esports team OmniSlash. Ike’s biggest achievement is winning Dreamhack Denver after going 9-0 in the Swiss stage of the event. More recently Ike competed at the Esports Arena Specialist showdown where he achieved 2nd place using his specialty, Shaman.
