After opening transfer negotiations for star player Abay “Hobbit” Khassenov, Gambit Esports is making another big announcement. The team is opening negotiations for Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev.

About a month ago, Gambit would officially open up transfer negotiations for Hobbit. This would signal the beginning of their roster shakeup. Gambit would head into ESL One New York with pretty much nothing to lose. They would actually play relatively well together and reach the semifinals of the tournament. Unfortunately, Team Liquid would sweep them in dominating fashion. Still, as a team whose future is uncertain, their performance was great.

However, after their early exit from StarSeries Season Six, this Counter-Strike team may be rebooting their lineup or disbanding completely. Showing a willingness to let two key players go tells fans that Gambit’s demise is coming soon. Not all news is sad, though, as these players will now have a chance to make a name for themselves on better, stronger teams. What kind of sendoff will Gambit give for some of their long-time members?

What AdreN Brings

The trio of AdreN, Rustem “mou” Telepov, and Nikolay “mir” Bityukov can be one of the most hard-hitting combinations in Counter-Strike. The amount of firepower that those three players provide is valuable to almost any team. With the team possibly breaking up after 2018, these players could find a home with a solid foundation. Additionally, AdreN has been in the Counter-Strike scene for some time now. The experience he has will be valuable moving forward, especially for any younger players he plays with.

One team many fans are linking AdreN and Hobbit to is Natus Vincere. A fellow CIS-based squad, the two players could slot in quite nicely alongside the ESL One Cologne champions. Na’Vi has been struggling to finish in the top three of multiple tournaments since Cologne. One player who has been underperforming is Ioann “Edward” Sukhariev. Since ESL One Cologne, Na’Vi would suffer a couple early exits, including an elimination from ESL One New York at the hands of Gambit.

If Edward were to be replaced by someone like AdreN, the amount of firepower on that roster would be ridiculous. Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and Denis “electronic” Sharipov are already two of the best players in the world. Adding AdreN to a team with veteran in-game leader Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko should help him return to a higher form.

Final Thoughts

CEO Konstantin Pikiner would give out praise for AdreN in a statement, saying:

Dauren has spent almost three years in out organization by joining CS:GO division upon its opening. Together with Gambit, he secured a lot of beautiful victories and earned an impressive amount of titles. It’s time for change, both for him and out CS:GO roster. With that in mind, we support his decision to prove himself in another team, possibly in another region.

With how Pikiner is giving his statement, it seems like AdreN was the one to ask for permission to seek another team. Additionally, he says that it is time for a change for the CS:GO roster. What kind of change? No one can know. Finally, many teams are going to be looking firepower, even in other regions. Could a North American team possibly snatch up AdreN for a boost in fragging? Time will tell very soon.
