After an impressive Overwatch World Cup, Cameron “Fusions” Bosworth is now on an Overwatch League team. According to ESPN, Fusions is joining the Boston Uprising.

Boston would go through a big roster overhaul this past offseason. As a result, Fusions is now joining the active roster, alongside the three other players they have added. Alongside Bosworth, Jeffrey “blasé” Tsang, Park “Axxiom” Min-seob and Kelsey “Colourhex” Birse as newcomers to the Overwatch League. They will be joining the roster amongst veteran members such as Nam-joo “Striker” Kwon, Lucas “NotE” Meissner and Young-jin “Gamsu” Noh.
What Fusions Brings
Bosworth was the main tank for the London Spitfire’s Academy team, the British Hurricanes. In season one, he would help them win the European Overwatch Contenders championship. However, in season two, they would fall hard in the standings and finish in ninth place. Although he was a decent player in Contenders, his true breakout moment would occur in this year’s Overwatch World Cup. Bosworth says, “I probably wasn’t too well known before. People in contenders will have known me but a lot of people don’t watch that. Now I think I’ve met the mark and people will remember me.”

His play, especially on Reinhardt, would be the X-factor for Team UK’s success. He would have multiple clutch moments for his team, whether it would be a huge Earthshatter or a big ultimate block. Many people would praise Fusions for carrying the UK squad throughout the World Cup. However, many people would point out his great synergy with fellow Hurricane and UK teammate, Finley “Kyb” Adisi. Behind the duo’s great performances, UK would end up upsetting the USA in the top eight. They would even push South Korea to five hard-fought games. “I just wanted to do well, sync well with the team and represent the country,” Bosworth would later mention, “It was about making memories, not making the Overwatch League.”
Onto the Boston Uprising!
His incredible World Cup has now earned him a spot on an Overwatch League team. However, where does the budding young star fit within the Boston Uprising’s system? Well, he will be joining the front line with both Gamsu and NotE. The big question is if the UK main tank will start or not. Of course, as the team leader, Gamsu will not be leaving the starting roster any time soon. However, he could be sharing some time with NotE during the season.
Whenever the Boston Uprising play a map that requires a Reinhardt, they could put in Fusions alongside Gamsu. Reason for this is, Gamsu’s Reinhardt was pretty lackluster during season one. He would play much better on Winston, and so having someone who can fill in those Reinhardt shoes will be great for the team. NotE plays D.Va and Zarya very well, and so they do not conflict with their hero pools. This will definitely give Boston more flexibility with their roster, come the second season of the Overwatch League.
The only problem that could occur for Fusions is the alleged mismanagement by Boston themselves. According to VPESPORTS, the team would have a very divided team environment due to a decision by Chris “HuK” Loranger, Boston Uprising’s President of Gaming. He would “separate the Korean and non-Korean players and subsequently assign instructional and player management responsibilities to different staff members”. Korean players would be coached by Da-hee “Crusty” Park, while the rest of the coaching staff would train the English-speaking players. Hopefully, these problems were dealt with in the offseason.
