The first trios teams to compete in the Fortnite Summer Smash Pro-Am charity event have been unveiled. These trios will be competing for a share of the $100,000 AUD prize pool; the winners choose which charities they’d like to give their winnings to.

Taking place during the Australian Open, the charity Pro-Am will be on Saturday, February 1. Meanwhile, Sunday February 2 will consist of the solos competition. This will entail 90 of the world’s best Fortnite players competing for a $400,000 prize pool. Celebrities from all around the world will travel to Melbourne to take part.

Summer Smash Trios teams

30 trios teams will compete in the charity Pro-Am. These names come from the Fortnite community, sports, entertainment, and esports. Last year’s winner, Harley “MrFreshAsian” Campbell, will be back. He’s teaming up with YouTube superstar Lachlan and Sydney musician Enschway. In a release from the Australian Open, MrFreshAsian described his excitement to be competing in Melbourne again.

“I’m so excited that we have international players coming to play in Aus and hopefully I can get two Australian Open Charity Pro-Am wins in a row.”

MrFreshAsian won’t be the only returning player. Elliott “Muselk” Watkins and X2TwinsJordan are teaming up with Reuben Styles of Australian music duo Peking Duk. Muselk described how he’s looking forward to the 2020 event.

“I’m incredibly excited to see the Australian Fortnite community come together for this amazing event. The 2019 AO event was an incredible time, and the inclusion of so many international talent this year should make the 2020 event even more special.”

Brisbane Lions’ Mitch Robinson is making a comeback too, teaming up with Chiefs Esports Club’s Reihana “slaya” Green and Perth YouTuber Mau. Robinson is an AFL player turned esports fanatic. He played in the charity Pro-Am last year and is excited to play trios in front of a packed stadium.

“From playing in front of 95,000 at the MCG, I never thought I’d play a video game on Margaret Court Arena during the Australian Open. In 2019 the arena and the buzz was something I’ll never forget, it was a first in Australia and I’m so excited to be back again at this years’ AO Summer Smash next weekend.”

The last announced team features the famous LazarBeam, comedian Dave Hughes, and Renegades’ newly signed pro player Ari “Rel” Roche. More teams will be revealed soon.
