The final week of challenges for Fortnite Season 5 has arrived, and we have a fresh guide to help you through Week 10. You need to complete at least seven weeks of challenges in order to unlock this season’s Road Trip skin, the Enforcer. A total of nine weeks are needed to unlock all of the hidden loading screens. With Season 5, Epic reduced the amount of grinding necessary to reach Battle Pass tier 100, so it’s easier to unlock the final skin this season, Ragnarok. However, if you still need a push, this week’s challenges should help.

Week 10 Free Pass Challenges

  • Search Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces in Basements (0/7)
  • Consume Apples or Mushrooms (0/20)
  • Eliminate Opponents (0/10) – HARD

Fortnite Season 5 Week 10 challenge guide

Search Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces in Basements

For the first challenge of Week 10, Epic tasks players to search jigsaw puzzle pieces in basements. Though this challenge may seem unique, it’s essentially a reskinned version of previous search-based challenges, like the gnome-themed one from Season 4. Regardless, there are a total of 10 jigsaw puzzle pieces scattered across the map. Only seven are needed to complete this challenge. As always, Redditor /u/TheSquatingDog has posted a handy guide to help you find them. Check it out below, along with the locations of this week’s chest and hidden Battle Star.

Note that if you’re trying to go the old-fashioned route and find these puzzle pieces without using a guide, the pieces have a minor audio clue to help guide you. As you near a piece, it emanates a faint rattling sound. While this sound can be difficult to discern in the midst of battle, it’s fairly audible even from a distance once the action quiets down. For reference, I was able to hear a piece in the basement of a building while standing three stories above it on the building’s roof.

Consume Apples or Mushrooms

Next, players must consume 20 apples or mushrooms. As you likely know, apples and mushrooms are items that spawn on the ground in-game and grant five HP and shield each, respectively. While this may not seem like a lot of healing, it’s a great resource when you’re in between 75 and 100 HP and don’t want to use a Medkit or Slurp Juice; the same can be said for mushrooms and shield use.

Fortunately, both resources tend to spawn in large clusters. Simply head over to any of the heavily-wooded areas on the island and you’re likely to find either spawn. Good locations for mushrooms include Wailing Woods and Shifty Shafts, with the former being a great choice if you’re looking to combine challenges (see the last challenge for this week). Meanwhile, apples are located in areas that skew a lighter shade of green, such as Tomato Temple or outside Salty Springs.

Eliminate Opponents

For the final free pass challenge of Season 5, players must eliminate 10 opponents. Previously, each prior week challenged players to eliminate three opponents. These tasks usually required players to use a specific weapon class or complete the eliminations in a specific location. However, this week’s challenge builds off player’s past experience and asks them to hit a total of ten eliminations.

No frills about it. Drop in at your favorite spot and rack up as many eliminations as you can. As I mentioned with the previous challenge, this task can, fortunately, be combined with some of the other challenges this week. For starters, you’ll make progress towards Dealing 5,000 damage to opponents over the course of completing this. Also, if you complete the eliminations based on the locations specified in the final challenge, you can complete the Week 10 list a bit quicker than normal.

Search Chests in Salty Springs

Moving forward, we have a traditional chest search. This time, search seven chests in Salty Springs. As I’ve recommended with previous weeks, these chest-based challenges are easier to complete later in the week. Whenever a new challenge list drops, everyone rushes to the named locations on the list. As such, Salty Springs will be a hotbed of activity for the next couple of days. While this is beneficial if you’re trying to earn some eliminations or deal damage, it makes finding and searching chests more difficult. Either use the high influx of players to your advantage for other challenges or come back in a few days. Just don’t wait too long, considering Season 5 ends soon.

Deal Damage to Opponents

As mentioned earlier, players must deal 5,000 damage to opponents. This is the equivalent of 25 opponents with full health and shields. Fortunately, eliminations are not required for the damage to count. That means that splash damage, assists, and potshots will all help. You should earn a fair amount of progress while racking up your ten eliminations. Assuming you still need more, however, try a squad-based mode. This way, the focus of enemies won’t be squarely on you, and you can work with your squadmates to deal damage when possible.

Search Between a Covered Bridge, Waterfall, and the 9th Green

For the final search-based challenge of Season 5, players must search between a covered bridge, waterfall, and the 9th green. While there are a few covered bridges and waterfalls on the Fortnite Battle Royale map, the 9th green can only refer to one location. Lazy Links, a point of interest that was added at the beginning of Season 5, is the only golf course on the map and, as such, has been the target for a few golf-centric challenges in previous weeks. This time, however, your challenge resides away from the course itself. If you’d like to run straight to the hidden Battle Star to complete this challenge, simply travel to space G2 on the game map’s coordinate grid.

Stage 1: Eliminate an Opponent in Pleasant Park

As with the past few weeks, the last challenge for Week 10 has multiple stages. To complete what is likely the final challenge of Season 5, players must first eliminate an opponent in Pleasant Park. This is similar to the final Battle Pass challenge for Week 8, which brought players to Greasy Grove, Lonely Lodge, and Fatal Fields. This week’s challenge has a similar variety in locations. After Pleasant Park, players must eliminate opponents in Wailing Woods and Lucky Landing. These points of interests are in opposite corners of the map, so it will most likely take multiple matches to complete this challenge. However, upon doing so, players are rewarded with a bonus batch of Battle Stars.

Only 11 days remain in Fortnite Season 5. Time is running out to maximize your experience and Battle Stars, not to mention unlock this season’s exclusive awards. Meanwhile, the mysteries surrounding the in-game events, such as the enigmatic cube, continue to develop. As Season 5 nears its conclusion, we’d love to hear your reflections on the past few months. What challenges gave you the most trouble? Of the dozens of patches we received, which do you feel changed the game the most? Sound off in the comments below with your thoughts on the past, present, and future of Fortnite, and we’ll see you on the island.
