The breakthrough game of the summer has been the goofy battle royale platformer Fall Guys. Have you seen the wobbly jelly bean-like characters, collectible costumes, and chaotic obstacle courses? It’s no wonder developer Mediatonic’s latest game has been dominating gaming conversations everywhere. Turns out, Sony’s PlayStation Plus program gave Fall Guys a pretty good boost as well. In a tweet, Sony revealed that Fall Guys is the most downloaded game through PlayStation Plus.

Both Sony and Mediatonic neglected to say how many times Fall Guys was downloaded but given the massive following the game has on Twitch, it has to be huge. Sony typically does not reveal download numbers, so the lack of transparency isn’t particularly surprising. As of March of this year however, PlayStation Plus had more than 41.5 million active uses on the platform.

Interestingly, Sony also did not say what was previously the most downloaded game from PS Plus. An infographic released earlier this year had the top five most downloaded games as:

  • Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered
  • Sonic Forces
  • Shadow of the Colossus
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
  • Destiny 2

It’s good to see that our little beans can awkwardly stumble past major franchises like Call of Duty and Destiny. Over on Steam, Fall Guys has sold more than 7 million copies according to the Mediatonic Twitter.

Fall Guys was recently confirmed to be coming to mobile, but only in China. Given the game’s popularity and the fact that Season 2 is on it’s way, it seems likely that a mobile version of Fall Guys will be headed to more regions soon.

If you haven’t downloaded Fall Guys yet and you have PlayStation Plus, make sure to get on it soon! September’s free games of Street Fighter V and PUBG: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be replacing Fall Guys after August 31.
