Epic Games announced the Fortnite Collegiate Cups on Monday in collaboration with College Carball Association for the fall semester. The CCA, which primarily operates in R0cket League, is an Epic Games initiative to  give college students in Canada and U.S. the opportunity to compete in the game with exclusive tournaments.

What to expect from the Fall Fortnite Collegiate Cups

The Fortnite Collegiate Cups will include Battle Royale and Zero Build tournaments for only college students in the U.S. and Canada. Zero Build tournaments have slowly become part of competitive Fortnite with some players liking the mode more.

Furthermore, the fall semester will see several Battle Royale and Zero Build tournaments each month with cash prizes and in-game rewards. These tournaments will begin in September and players will get more opportunities to compete throughout the semester.

Epic Games also said in the announcement that there will be opportunities through competitive scrims for college players and teams as well as third-party tournaments and school-hosted events.  All players who participate in the tournaments will also receive a cosmetic reward.

The Fortnite Collegiate Cup will have at least two events in a month, and every event will have two rounds. Dates for Round 1 are as follows:

  • Sept. 7: Trios Zero Build
  • Sept. 8: Solo Battle Royale
  • Oct. 5: Trios Zero Build
  • Oct. 6: Solo Battle Royale
  • Nov. 2: Trios Zero Build
  • Nov. 3: Solo Battle Royale

How to participate

Any college student currently studying in an American or Canadian college can register for the Fortnite Collegiate Cup by Sept. 1. Interested students must register and verify their student status through the Fortnite scholastic registration site. The CCA will oversee the tournament operations as well as the registration process. Students must also submit their current school transcripts during the verification process.

Additionally, interested participants must join the CCA Discord to compete in the Fortnite Collegiate Cup events. All other information relating to the cash prize and Round 2 dates will be released before the competition begins.
