ESL One Malaysia 2022, the final international tournament before Dota’s biggest event of the year, is finally here. The yearly tournament held in the Genting Highlands, Malaysia gathers 12 of the best teams in the world to fight it out right before the International 11 last chance qualifiers. Over five days, fans will find out which team is in the best shape heading into those last chance qualifiers.

ESL One Malaysia 2022 format

ESL One Malaysia has a total of 12 teams participating, seven were directly invited and the rest participated in qualifiers in order to make it into the event. Four of those teams will make their share of $400.000.

Each of these 12 teams will be split into two groups of six, where teams will play against each other in a round-robin group stage. Each of the series will be a best of two. At the end of the group stage, the top two teams from each group will move on to the final double-elimination playoff bracket. The third and fourth place teams will move on to the lower bracket of the playoff bracket and the remaining teams are eliminated from contention.

In the case of tiebreakers, a team’s head-to-head record will be accounted for, and if it’s still a tie, a 1v1 solo mid between two chosen players will ensue.

Here are the groups:

Group A: Alliance, Entity, Talon Esports, Team Aster, Team Secret, Thunder Awaken

Group B: BOOM Esports, Fnatic, Nigma Galaxy, OG Esports, Team Liquid, TSM
