Europe’s first platinum Super Smash Bros. Ultimate event of the 2022 Smash World Tour is coming to Paris, France, this weekend. Going against expectations, however, it will have more than 200 fewer entrants than Colossel 2022, Europe’s last gold-level Ultimate event.
Even so, this event will feature a number of Europe’s finest, plus top players from both North America and Japan. Here’s everything viewers need to know going into Ultimate Wanted 4 this weekend.
Players to watch
The biggest player to watch at Ultimate Wanted 4 will be Sota “Zackray” Okada. His last Ultimate major was Kagaribi 6 in January, which he won. This will also be his first tournament outside of Japan since Smash Ultimate Summit 3 last August.
Zackray has already racked up wins against Shuto “Shuton” Moriya, Kengo “KEN” Suzuki and Yutaro “Paseriman” Naguro at recent locals. As the No. 2 seed at this tournament, Zackray will aim for his second major win of the year.

Also coming from Japan, Asimo has a strong chance at scoring some upsets at Ultimate Wanted 4. Over the past few months, he has beaten the United States’ best player, Paris “Light” Ramirez, as well as one of the best players in Japan, Naoto “ProtoBanham” Tsuji.
Now, he’s projected to face the best player in France (and all of Europe), William “Glutonny” Belaïd, in winners quarters at this event. With another top-level win like that under his belt, Asimo could make a stronger claim for himself as one of the best players in Japan.
How to watch Ultimate Wanted 4
Solary and NtK_TV will provide the primary broadcasts for Ultimate Wanted 4. There will also be an English side stream via VGBootCamp and a Spanish side stream via Mystic Squad. The tournament will begin with a Squad Strike bracket at 5 a.m. ET on Thursday.
The Doubles bracket will start at 5 a.m. on Friday, with show matches later happening at 1 p.m. Singles pools will then kick off at 4 a.m. on Saturday. There will also be a crew battle world cup at noon on Saturday.
Championship Sunday will begin at 4 a.m. with the top 128. Afterward, the top 32 will start at 8 a.m., followed by the top eight at 11 a.m. There will also be other side events going on throughout the weekend, such as a Shoto War pitting fighting-game-character players against each other.
