Besides receiving Mystery Gifts, the primary use of Pokémon Legends: Arceus’ ‘Communications’ tab has to do with the new Lost & Found satchels mechanic. Here’s everything you need to know about the new mechanic, including how to find satchels and what you can gain from them.

What are the Lost & Found satchels in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?

By connecting to the internet and checking the Lost & Found section in the main menu, players can see satchels containing items lost either by themselves or fellow trainers in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Any time a player takes too much damage and blacks out, they will lose some of the items they were carrying. These items then become satchels that other players can locate.

Whenever a player enters an area in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and connects to the internet, the Lost & Found section will list who has lost a satchel in that area and what one of the items in the satchel is. Likewise, if the player previously blacked out in the area, they can check whether their satchel has been found in this menu.

Even without connecting to the internet, players can still locate lost satchels. These offline satchels will contain items belonging to NPCs who are part of the Survey Corps.

The map on the player’s Arc Phone will display any nearby satchels. By hovering over the satchels and pressing the A button, the player can Pin the location, which will make it easier to hunt down the satchel in the overworld.

What happens when you find a satchel

Whenever you find a satchel full of someone else’s lost items, those items will go back to the player who dropped them upon blacking out. The inverse is true as well. As a result, players who have blacked out in an area should stay connected to the internet so that they can receive their lost items if someone else finds their satchel. If someone does find your satchel, you can click on it and claim it in the Lost & Found menu and the items will either return to your bag or your item storage.

Although players will not keep the items they find in someone else’s satchel, there is still a reward for returning a Lost & Found satchel in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Upon returning a satchel, trainers will occasionally receive an item like a Poké Ball or an Exp. Candy. More importantly, they will always receive a set amount of an in-game currency known as Merit Points.

Players can then spend these Merit Points on rare and valuable items at Simona’s shop in Jubilife Village. Notably, Simona offers numerous items needed to evolve Pokémon in this game, including the Linking Cord and several different evolution stones.
