Epic Games gets a failing grade from the Better Business Bureau located in North Carolina. Why the “F” rating? Apparently, Epic Games, who is the company behind Fortnite, has amassed about 279 complaints against them. Furthermore, 247 complaints against them have gone unanswered, according to the new report from the BBB. F is the lowest rating any company can get. All of these complaints were filed in the past three years.

A good chunk of these complaints stems from Epic’s customer service department with regards to issuing refunds, exchanges, and dealing with customer complaints. Epic Games, despite BBB’s best efforts, has not yet addressed any of this, as BBB has stated,“BBB has attempted to contact Epic Games on numerous occasions, but the company has failed to respond.”

Awful customer service

Epic Games is also accused of “failing to protect customer security” according to one complainant who stated they were charged about $160 from Epic Games for a charge they did not do. When they tried to contact Epic to get the unauthorized charge reversed they found “no phone number or proper email response time to return my unauthorized charge of $160. Nobody will answer, and I feel cheated.”

Not good PR on Epic’s part. In the past Epic  Games has been at the center of a lot of complaints from users, for example, kids stealing their parents’ credit card and going on a spending spree without permission. This is a heck of a lot of complaints from just one state alone, and it makes one wonder what the rating is across the United States. Now that this report has gone public, maybe Epic Games will get its act together and address these complaints in a more timely manner. I have to imagine they are quite backlogged, but they should still make an effort to make things right for people in North Carolina.
