With the inaugural FIFA eNations Cup about to start, we thought we would look at five of the most promising teams. Ten top-10 players from both platforms will feature in the tournament, and that means we can expect an exciting tournament with close matches. With important Global Series Points up for grabs, the eNations Cup is going to be a good one.

Here are five teams we suggest looking out for in the eNations Cup:

England: F2Tekkz and FUTWIZTom

Starring for the Three Lions is arguably the greatest player of the current season – Donovan “F2Tekkz” Hunt. He will be starring for England in Group A alongside Tom “FUTWIZTom” Leese. In their group, they will be up against Finland, South Africa, France, and Saudi Arabia. The last of those games promises to be a thriller after Mossad “MSDOSSARY7” Aldossary was victorious in the battle for Xbox supremacy at the recent FUT Champions Cup in April.

FUTWIZTom won the PlayStation version of the National Championship despite having some serious competition. He earned his position comprehensively, and although this is a tough group, the boys in white will be looking to make it through to the knockouts at a minimum.

Saudi Arabia: MSDOSSARY7 and The Royal

Of the many teams looking to keep England out of the fabled knockouts, one of them is Saudi Arabia. One of the most high-profile clashes will be when three-time FUT Champions Cup winner MSDOSSARY7 and four-time FUT Champions Cup winner F2Tekkz come up against each other.

Accompanying MSDOSSARY7 is Khalid “TheRoyal” Aloufi for the Saudi team. The Royal already has two FIFA eClub World Cup appearances under his belt and will make the Saudi team one of the most experienced in the tournament. Understandably, they are one of the top favorites to take home the crown.

Argentina: Nicolas99fc and Yago

Argentina might not be a country that you are used to seeing being associated with FIFA esports, but you’d be surprised. One of the Argentine duo is Nicolas “Nicolas99FC” Villalba who currently sits in pole position on the PlayStation side of the FIFA 19 Global Series Rankings. He is the star of the Argentine team and will hope to lead his country into the knockout stages.

His partner “Yago” is not too shabby either; he has put in plenty of very strong performances so far in the season. EClub World Champion Nicolas99fc is well versed in the 2v2 format and may be the deciding factor when it comes to important clutch matches. Argentina sits in group C and is the dark horse in that group.

Germany: Megabit and MoAuba

Now, Germany is a team you’re used to seeing dominate the footballing world, whether it’s the World Cup or the Champions League. German eSports is no different. The German team consists of two players who have each featured twice at the FIFA eWorld Cup and who won the VBL Club Championship together playing for Werder Bremen.

They’re veterans of the 2v2 format, and one of their coaches, Benedikt Salzer, is a former Grand Finalist. Both Michael “MegaBit” Bittner and Mohammed ‘Moauba’ Harkous sit in the top 10 of the FIFA 19 Global Series Rankings and are one of the heaviest favorites to take home the title. Perhaps German domination will continue in the FIFA 19 world.

France: Maestro and DaXe

The current World Cup holders, France, storm into the eNations Cup at the perfect time. Coming into form, the two French players both made it through to the knockout stages of the FUT Champions Cup. Corentin “Maestro” Thuillier went on to finish as the top player on PS4 in the tournament before being defeated by MSDOSSARY7 in the Grand Final.

This weekend, however, he will have the opportunity to get his revenge in the group phase. France has been drawn in Group A alongside the Saudi team; he will be looking to right his wrong. It is without a doubt then that the Group of Death attribute belongs to Group A, and it will be a group packed with close, passionate games.
