Two new Paradox Pokémon are available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Walking Wake and Iron Leaves. The ancient form of Suicune and the futuristic rendition of Virizion appear in 5 star Tera Raids and can be caught once defeated.

Walking Wake and Iron Leaves’ introduction to the game came along with Version 1.2.0 of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Their debut in the Pokémon Presents live stream on Pokémon Day also came with the announcement of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s first DLC: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.

The DLC, including both Part I and Part II, is available for pre-purchase in the Nintendo eShop now. Players who purchase the DLC early will receive a special Hisuian Zoroark with the move Happy Hour – a move usually exclusive to event Pokémon.

However, players booting up their copies of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet to get in on all the new content might be wondering if Walking Wake and Iron Leaves require DLC to be caught and battled? Luckily, the Tera Raid battles added to include these two powerful Paradox Pokémon do NOT require the DLC to participate in.

How to find Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Tera Raid

While playing Pokémon Scarlet, look for a flashing Water-type symbol on the map which will indicate an available Walking Wake Tera Raid.

While playing Pokémon Violet, look for a flashing Psychic-type symbol on the map to find an Iron Leaves Tera Raid battle.

If no other raid battles appear on your map, simply navigate to the Poke Portal, select Tera Raid Battle and then look for a silhouette of either Walking Wake or Iron Leaves. Using the online Tera Raid Battle feature, players can access either Pokémon regardless of what version they own.

These two are 5 star raids, so be sure to enter the fight with a competent team or a powerful enough Pokémon to handle it if you choose to go solo.  Walking Wake and Iron Leaves will be available in Tera Raid Battles until March 12, 2023, but if you happen to miss out, they will more than likely be available at a later date.
