On May 5, Dignitas announced that they are are presenting the next VALORANT Champions Tour Game Changers tournament. This will host the top women’s VALORANT teams competing for a $50,000 prize pool. The qualifiers begin on June 19 and the main event starts on June 24. The event is in tandem with the VCT, Dignitas, Nerd Street Gamers and Galorants — a discord community for female VALORANT players.

The Game Changers tournament will have the same format as the previous Game Changers event; an open qualifier that leads into a double-elimination tournament. The games will be a best-of-three format, except for the best-of-five grand final. Also, these games will be streamed on the Dignitas Twitch channel. Dignitas is currently open to co-streaming partners. They will have their own content creators streaming the event, including Carolyn “artStar” Noquez and Heather “sapphiRe” Garozzo.

Dignitas Game Changers schedule

The open qualifier portion of the event begins on June 19 and will run until June 20. The broadcast will take select matches to showcase live by Nerd Street Gamers. Additionally, the main event will take the top eight teams to compete against one another, starting June 24 through 27. Each day, the Game Changers broadcast will start at 11:30 a.m. EST with a pre-show. Finally, the games will begin at 12 p.m. EST and continue until the round is over.

Previous Game Changers results

The first Game Changers event took place in March of 2021. Cloud9 White took the crown in a crowded landscape of top teams. The field included sponsored squads like TSM Female, CLG Red and Dignitas. The unsigned teams included the former Moon Raccoons Black roster, Man I Love Fwogs, the now Gen.G Esports women’s team and Watch This. Cloud9 White stomped through the tournament, not dropping a single map on their way to the finals. They swept CLG Red in the final matchup and solidified their spot as the top female squad in North America.

The upcoming Dignitas Game Changers event may see new challengers come against Cloud9 White, as the women’s scene has continued with more competitions and teams. Since the first Game Changers event, there have been other events like Game Changers Academy, the Women in Leadership VALORANT series and the Pittsburgh Knights Sakura Cup in order for teams to test their skill.
