We finally have some clarity on one of the LCS’s biggest mysteries. Cloud9 CEO Jack Etienne issued a statement via Twitter in which he clarified some of the possible routes that the team’s wildly popular and legendary long-time bot-laner, Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi, is considering at this time.

The potential options include remaining with Cloud9 as a pro player, being traded to a team of his choice, retiring but remaining with Cloud9 as a content creator, or retiring independently. The final option still remains very likely, as Sneaky has built a very successful following as a streamer and cosplayer.

Jack iterated in a following tweet why he had not yet commented on the situation but was breaking the silence now.

I wanted to respect his wishes but based on the community response, I feel like it’s better to be transparent at this moment. Please respect all Cloud9 members at this time

Where will Sneaky go?

Many fans have been puzzled at the lack of information they’ve received so far on the situation. With Sneaky’s future up in the air for a while now, the team recently announced the signing of TSM’s former bot-lane starter, Jasper “Zven” Svenningsen. This further threw doubt on Sneaky’s potential future with the team. Many then speculated that the long-time Cloud9 ADC would make his way to 100 Thieves, where he’d play with the recently re-signed William “Meteos” Hartman. Sneaky and Meteos were both in the inaugural Cloud9 roster when the team entered the LCS and played as teammates for years.

With ESPN breaking the news earlier today that 100 Thieves would be signing Dignitas bot-laner, Sun “Cody Sun” Li-Yu, that option now seems off the table.

Now it seems that remaining with Cloud9 is still a realistic option for Sneaky, both as an LCS performer or as a branded content creator.

Regardless of what happens, the result will undoubtedly be intriguing. Stay tuned with Daily Esports to keep up, as we will have any and all updates that come forth.
