With just a week to go before Call of Duty: Vanguard releases, the flood gates have opened in regards to the content coming at and after launch. Sledgehammer Games and Activision did most of the revealing earlier today with a couple of blog posts. However, one insider within the community has released an image of some content that wasn’t included in the posts. The image appears to be some form of Mastery camo in Vanguard.
In the official blog posts, Activision did reveal that Gold camo was coming back for Vanguard multiplayer. While this was always the expectation, fans were confused to see that no other kind of camo was listed. In the past, Diamond and some other kinds of Mastery camos have been alongside the classic Gold. Though Activision didn’t reveal any Mastery camo earlier today, it appears that at least one is coming to Vanguard.
Vanguard apparently features Mastery camo
The leaker in question is @TheGhostOfMW, who has a long track record of leaking correct information in Call of Duty. They tweeted out two images of the same camo earlier in the night. The camo looks to be a Mastery camo reminiscent of Dark Aether from Black Ops Cold War.
The camo looks like a red-colored Dark Aether, which was purple in Cold War. At this time, it’s unclear what mode this camo is unlocked through. In Cold War, Dark Aether was unlocked through Zombies. It would make sense that this would be the case in Vanguard seeing as Treyarch, the developers of Cold War, are in charge of Zombies this year.
Even if this camo is for Zombies, though, a logical next step is assuming that multiplayer will also feature some camo of similar value. That likely means that fans will have to unlock Gold on every weapon in Vanguard multiplayer to unlock the Mastery camo. The same goes for the Mastery camo in Zombies.
Nothing further has been leaked about the camos in Vanguard or how they’re unlocked. Fans can expect some kind of additional intel to drop next week, though. Whether it’s from official sources or not remains to be seen.
