The Call of Duty community has come up with some amazing designs over the years. With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War releasing soon, a designer has taken up an old habit. Last year, before the 2021 CDL, a well-known artist released some amazing weapon skins based around the league’s teams. Well, the same artist is at it again this year and has already designed some pretty incredible skins. Activision chose to implement CDL skins at the end of last season so maybe the company could take these designs and release them ever sooner in 2021.

Designer makes some Black Ops Cold War CDL weapon skins

VLionMan, a known member of the CoD community, is the artist who designs these weapon skins. He takes a popular weapon from the current title, this time from Black Ops Cold War, and designs a skin around a CDL team.

In Modern Warfare, vLionMan took the M4A1 for these skins. For Black Ops Cold War, a similar approach was taken, as the designer made the Krig-6 assault rifle as his template. So far, he’s done camos for the Seattle Surge, Atlanta FaZe, OpTic Gaming, and Minnesota Rokkr. You can view the camos on his Twitter page.

VLionMan even included a time-lapse of his time in Photoshop making the skin.

Obviously, these take a ton of time and work. However, if one artist can do this, imagine what a whole team of designers could do at Activision or Treyarch. This simply begs the question of why professional team skins aren’t released before the latter half of the season every year.

Hopefully, for Black Ops Cold War, we see more focus on the competitive side of things. CDL fans would certainly pay good money to represent their favorite team on the battlefield.
