Players once again have access to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer. The Open Beta is now live for PlayStation 4 users who digitally pre-ordered the game through the PS Store or another outlet. If you played the Alpha test back in September, the game might look a little different to you. Treyarch announced yesterday that a flurry of changes is coming to the Open Beta. They include a FOV slider, Ping system, bug fixes, weapon tuning, and additional gameplay content. Lucky PS4 users have until the end of the weekend to enjoy the Black Ops Cold War multiplayer beta all to themselves. Both Xbox One and PC users won’t gain access until October 15.

Open Beta now live for Black Ops Cold War

This is one of the most exciting times for a Call of Duty fan. Of course, the actual launch of any specific title is far and away more exhilarating, but the beta allows players to get a good feel for the upcoming game. While the Alpha test exposed some of the game’s contents, it in no way was a reflection of the final product.

With a beta, however, the developers have put more work into it. Still, this won’t reflect the polished version of Black Ops Cold War that will release globally on November 13. Instead, we’re seeing around half of what Treyarch has in store for us this year.

The Open Beta sees a new map, Cartel, and a couple of new modes. Along with this, players are now able to level up their character to unlock different guns, attachments, and other loadout items. However, there is still a ton of content locked behind closed doors that won’t be seen until later on in the month.
