One of Counter Strike: Global Offensive’s largest tournament organizers, BLAST Premier, has signed a media rights partnership with DAZN, a global sports streaming group. According to Sports Business Journal’s The Esports Observer, the deal allows its tournaments to be available live and on-demand across 100 territories.

BLAST Premier will broadcast to 100 territories through DAZN

BLAST Premier is already one of the largest tournament organizers in the world. In February, the tournament organizer had already expanded its reach through 35 deals for its own global broadcast network. The deal covers both TV networks and online platforms, including public Danish broadcaster TV2, Asian TV network Astro, African over-the-top service StarTimes, Brazilian Twitch streamer Gaules, and the Ukraine-based WePlay Esports.

According to the report, BLAST Premier’s new deal with DAZN group will allow their broadcasts to be viewed in over 100 countries. DAZN, created in 2016, has seen rapid expansion over the last few years, adding several broadcasts exclusive to the platform. Last year, DAZN broadcast over 27,000 sporting events across 956 million hours of streamed content to more than 200 countries and territories worldwide, including the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, MLS, NFL, Formula 1, and the Olympic Games in Tokyo and Beijing. Now, the streaming group will make a large foray into esports with this new deal.

BLAST Premier is well known for running large-scale Counter Strike: Global Offensive tournaments; most recently, the tournament organizer hosted its spring group stages in February in preparation for the Spring Final on June 15-19, 2022. The upcoming Spring final will be the first BLAST Premier broadcast that DAZN will distribute, with DAZN continuing to broadcast the four remaining seasonal finals in 2022.

So far, the BLAST Premier’s Spring Finals already have OG, Vitality, Faze Clan and G2 Esports in attendance. The teams will compete for their share of the $425,000 prize pool and 4000 BLAST Premier points, an amount that would essentially qualify the winning team for the upcoming Fall Finals.
