With the latest Destiny 2 expansion Lightfall out for a little while now, we have a good idea of how strong all the exotic weapons from Destiny 2 Lightfall are. Here is a quick ranking of all the exotic weapons in Destiny 2 Lightfall, from worst to best.

There aren’t a lot of new exotic weapons in this new expansion, but some can impact the game more than you’d originally expect. Starting with the worst exotic weapon in Destiny 2 Lightfall…

Verglas Curve is solid, especially in PvE

The worst exotic on this list is the Verglas Curve, but just because it’s the worst exotic weapon from Lightfall, it doesn’t mean it’s bad. It gets outclassed by the other exotics on this list, but for a fair reason. The Verglas Curve is the exotic weapon you get from either purchasing the Season of Defiance premium pass or from getting to level 35 on the free pass. Usually, exotic items that are the easiest to unlock aren’t the best of the best.

On the other side, the exotic ability that the Verglas Curve has is very useful in PvE moments in the Lightfall campaign.

Deterministic Chaos is strong but outclassed by other Exotic machine guns

When it comes to Exotic heavy weapons, Determisitic Chaos is a very good choice thanks to its strong exotic ability. Every fourth shot stacks more damage on enemies, and the sixteenth shot weakens enemies heavily. Yet, when comparing it to other exotic machine guns — like the Thunderlord — it still doesn’t do nearly as much damage.

If you don’t have another exotic heavy weapon, the Deterministic Chaos is a great choice.

Winterbite still very strong as an Exotic glaive

While not nearly as strong as when it first came out, the Winterbite is the better of the two exotic heavy weapons from Lightfall. Much like the Verglas Curve, this is a Stasis weapon, but the ability to freeze enemies and have large lock-on orbs that target enemies can lead to a lot of damage.

Especially as a heavy weapon, the pure numbers that Winterbite can do makes it a very strong exotic weapon.

Final Warning tops the list for PvP play

Out of all the exotic weapons in Lightfall, the Final Warning is by far the best PvP weapon. The tracking it offers as a sidearm is nuts, as you can hipfire after targeting enemies to have tracking shots. As a Strand weapon as well, it can combo well with the new subclasses to make a strong Strand build.

Quicksilver Storm tops the list for PvE play

Last but not least, the Quicksilver Storm is the best PvE exotic weapon from Lightfall. You can argue whether its better for PvE than the Final Warning is for PvP, but I would put Quicksilver Storm atop for one key reason. This auto rifle’s unique ability is that it can fire micro-rockets after landing multiple shots and it also has a grenade launcher mode.

In a similar vein to the Winterbite, the pure damage numbers the Quicksilver Storm can do is really high. Plus, as a primary gun with infinite ammo, it tops the list of exotic weapons from Destiny 2 Lightfall.
