As you are going through the Steel Watch Foundry in Baldur’s Gate 3, you will eventually reach the end of it, where a final boss is awaiting you. This final boss is called the Steel Watch Titan, and it’s not an easy enemy to defeat whatsoever.
The Titan is so difficult that the Gondian Toobin won’t even enter the room with it if you brought him with you up to that point. Compared to other Steel Watchers, Titan is quadrupedal, is much larger, and has more defensive mechanisms. All of this is topped off with new moves that make it extremely challenging to even damage, let alone kill.
Defeat Steel Watch Titan in Baldur’s Gate 3
The first part of the fight with Titan will consist of three other Hellfire Steel Watchers flanking the big boss. Titan remains in the middle of the area for most of the fight, only moving when it has to. This is for good reason, as Titan has a whopping 369 HP.
Because of this, I recommend attacking the Hellfire Steel Watchers first, as they will eventually trigger a self-detonation, which can damage Titan when the explosion happens. The regular watchers are also more annoying to deal with.
I will go over some more tips to take down the Steel Watch Titan below:
- As with all Steel Watchers, Titan is doubly susceptible to lightning damage. Use any lightning skills, scrolls, or arrows you have against it and the other Steel Watchers.
- Dealing with the three other Steel Watchers first allows your entire team to gang up on Titan at the same time, which makes its HP go down much quicker. Titan also doesn’t have many attacks, it only has one key defensive move.
- After taking some damage, Titan will turtle up, and only attacks that deal 15 damage and up will be effective. When Titan wants to attack again, it will leave this turtle form. If you don’t have many attacks that can deal 15 damage to the watcher, then simply wait it out until Titan leaves the form.
- When it’s not in the turtle form, I recommend attacking with basic bludgeoning, slashing, or piercing damage if your character doesn’t have any lighting arrows or spells. These attacks won’t do much, but they go a long way in lowering Titan’s massive HP bar.
Once you get rid of the Hellfire Steel Watchers, Titan is actually not too challenging to defeat. However, this is only true if you have some lightning spells or arrows to use. If you don’t, then the fight will be an absolute slog, as your basic attacks won’t do much damage. Eventually, though, Titan will go down if you are using all four party members to attack it one after the other.
When Titan is defeated, loot its body to pick up a legendary bow and then proceed to blow up the Steel Watch Foundry.
