There aren’t too many more versatile characters you can add to your party in Baldur’s Gate 3 than Shadowheart. The troubled and devout Cleric can either remain a strict follower of her class or turn into a hybrid that is capable of really rounding out your party. Any way you decide to build Shadowheart, though, you need to know what the best Feats for her are in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Feats are an underrated part of character-building, as they can heavily affect how certain party members perform in battle and how you build them going forward. Your choices for Shadowheart will change depending on whether you change her class or keep her as a Cleric, but there are some specific Feats you should use with her no matter the build.
Best Shadowheart Feats in BG3
With my Feat selections, I’m going with the assumption you have kept Shadowheart as a Cleric or as some spell-casting class. This is where she shines the brightest, as she’s not necessarily meant to be built as a melee class, such as a Warrior or Paladin. As such, my choices will allow you to gain advantages with spell-casting or attacks, increase Shadowheart’s abilities, and improve your movement speed and health.
- Ability Score Improvement: You increase one Ability by 2, or two Abilities by 1, to a maximum of 20.
- Resilient: You increase an Ability by 1, to a maximum of 20, and gain Proficiency in that Ability’s Saving Throws.
- Durable: Your Constitution increases by 1, to a maximum of 20. You regain full hit points each time you take a Short Rest.
- War Caster: You gain Advantage on Saving Throws to maintain Concentration on a spell. You can also use a reaction to cast Shocking Grasp at a target moving out of melee range.
- Mobile: Your movement speed increases, and difficult terrain doesn’t slow you down when you Dash. If you move after making a melee attack, you don’t provoke Opportunity Attacks from your target.
- Spell Sniper: You learn a cantrip, and the number you need to roll a Critical Hit while attacking with a Spell is reduced by 1. This effect can stack.
- Lucky: You gain 3 Luck Points, which you can use to gain Advantage on Attack Rolls, Ability Checks, or Saving Throws, or to make an enemy reroll their Attack Rolls.
I have included seven Feats here, all of which are primarily useful for Shadowheart as a Cleric or another spell-caster. Assuming you’re still using Shadowheart as your party’s main healer, these Feats allow her to stay alive, move faster to reach other characters in battle, and gain advantages with attacks and saving throws. You can also improve your abilities and learn certain Cantrips with some of the Feats, which only makes Shadowheart a stronger overall character.
