Ariana Grande joins other artists in the Fortnite Metaverse
Ariana Grande is not the first musical artist to hold a concert series within Fortnite. Marshmello and Travis Scott also held their own immersive concert series inside the battle in 2019 and 2020, respectively. According to IGN, Scott garnered 12.3 million players on his debut performance in the Metaverse while Marshmello brought in 10.7 million concurrent viewers.
Both performances featured in-game visuals and mechanics that enhanced the viewing and listening experience. Based off of the recent trailers and teasers for Ariana Grande’s tour in Fortnite, the experience may feature many of the same elements in the style of her brand.
The in-game event kicks off on Friday, Aug. 6 at 6 p.m. EST. Epic recommends players that show up an hour before the concerts start in order to ensure their place in the lobby.
