Many players in Diablo 4 might not get to explore the Dry Steppes region until they are already several hours into the game. If players follow the story Acts in order, then they will visit the Dry Steppes after completing Acts 1 and 2 in Fractured Peaks and Scosglen. Or, players could have skipped directly to Act 3 and explored Dry Steppes during their first few hours of Diablo 4. In any case, if you want to head into the desert you will need to get their bearings quickly. The best way to do that is to discover all of the Dry Steppes Waypoints in Diablo 4.

The Waypoints act as your fast travel system and earn 20 Renown for each one you find. Dry Steppes has eight total Waypoints in it, meaning you can earn 160 Renown in the region just for discovering the fast travel points. Your Renown is also increased by completing tasks that are necessary to unlock some of the Waypoints in the region.

The first Waypoint you will likely discover is Ked Bardu, which is Dry Steppes’ main city. After that, you will need to do some serious exploring to find them all.

  1. Ked Bardu – Located near the western coast of the region, the main town for Dry Steppes
  2. Farobru – Found to the northwest of Ked Bardu, just outside of Scosglen
  3. The Onyx Watchtower – Only available after completing The Onyx Watchtower Stronghold
  4. Fate’s Retreat – Located directly to the east of The Onyx Watchtower
  5. Hidden Overlook – Located directly to the south of Fate’s Retreat
  6. Ruins of Qara-Yisu – Only available after completing the Ruins of Qara-Yisu Stronghold
  7. Jirandi – Located to the southwest of Ruins of Qara-Yisu, just to the north of Kehjistan
  8. Alzuuda – Found inside the Fields of Hatred at the southwestern corner of the region

As you can see, there are two Waypoints in Dry Steppes that you can’t find until you complete a specific Stronghold. The two Strongholds you need to find and defeat are The Onyx Watchtower and Ruins of Wara-Yinsu. Both of these are relatively easy to beat, but I do recommend that you either bring a friend or drop your World Tier if you start dying a lot.

You will also be able to unlock one of the PvP zones by going to Alzuuda. If you are moving on to the Fractured Peaks region once Dry Steppes is complete, you can view all of that region’s Waypoints in a different guide.
