Out of the twelve teams going to Copenhagen, Denmark for the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022 Stage 2 Masters tournament, eleven are in. With only one more left, here is who got in so far from all over the world, and who could be the last to make it in. Stage 2 Masters is not only another important international tournament for Champions later this year, but also brings VCT players to a LAN with a crowd internationally for the first time. We have some returning teams from Stage 1 Masters, including the defending champions themselves, but we also have a lot of new teams looking to make their mark internationally.

The teams going to Stage 2 Masters
Here are all the teams (so far) going to Copenhagen for Stage 2 Masters.
- OpTic Gaming
- XSET
- Fnatic
- FunPlus Phoenix
- Guild Esports
- Paper Rex
- XERXIA
- DRX
- Northeption
- Leviatán
- LOUD
There is only one spot left, which rests between one of two teams. Who gets this final spot is between the second place teams in both the Latin America and Brazil regions; this time around, those two teams are KRÜ Esports and Ninjas in Pyjamas. They face each other at noon EST on June 30 for the final Stage 2 Masters spot.
VCT North America brings a new competitor
To start, Stage 1 Masters champions OpTic Gaming are back, looking to win back-to-back Masters tournaments. Their path to Stage 2 Masters wasn’t easy, but finishing top of their group and running through the upper bracket got them a quick qualification to both Stage 2 Masters and Champions later this year. However, much like Stage 1 Masters, they aren’t arriving into an international LAN as the first seed of their region.

The first seed out of NA is XSET, a team known for both consistency but also just missing out on international competitions in recent years. This time around, a lot of the teams they lost to in Stage 1 weren’t even in the playoffs. And, much like The Guard in Stage 1, they defeated OpTic Gaming to get the top spot in NA. Now, they get that opportunity to prove themselves in Copenhagen after running through the lower bracket and defeating OpTic.
VCT Europe, Middle East and Africa brings back powerhouses
As for EMEA, their teams had some issues in Stage 1 Masters due to COVID and other significant issues. While not the first seed, like at Stage 1 Masters, FunPlus Phoenix is back and will play internationally against the world’s best. Despite missing out on Stage 1 Masters, they didn’t take that problem hard and just fought their way through the lower bracket to get the second seed.

First seed in EMEA is Fnatic, another team that had to swap out some players for Stage 1 Masters. Even with big roster changes, their team is nothing but a powerhouse heading into Stage 2 Masters. Undefeated in both qualifiers and playoffs, they made a statement and hope to prove their worth in Copenhagen.
Last but not least, Guild Esports rounds out the region with a great run in both qualifiers and playoffs. They beat out other top teams such as Acend, M3 Champions and Team Liquid to reach Stage 2 Masters, and will join Fnatic and FPX in Denmark.
VCT Asia-Pacific brings familiar faces
In the APAC region, the same two teams that made it to 2022 Stage 1 Masters are back for Stage 2. Both Paper Rex and XERXIA are first and second seed respectively within their region.
VCT Korea remains DRX’s region
Not surprising any fans across the world, DRX is back representing Korea. Even with all the new competition within the Korean region, DRX remains the top team and for good reason.
VCT Japan brings a new team to Masters
From a region that seemed to be ZETA DIVISION’s to lead after their recent third place performance at Stage 1 Masters, we have a new team representing Japan; Northeption is going to Copenhagen. With only one spot for Japan, this team missed out in 2021, finishing second place in APAC’s LCQ. While their form may have waned in Stage 1 this year, they’ve bounced back in Stage 2.

This time around, they beat ZETA DIVISION 3-1 after losing to them 2-0 in the upper bracket finals.
VCT Latin America brings a new challenger
LATAM has primarily been a two-team region, with both KRÜ Esports and Leviatán fighting for their regional spot. Whoever lost would then face the second place team in Brazil for their second shot, and usually it was KRÜ winning their region outright.

This time around, Leviatán have gotten over the hump and will represent LATAM at Copenhagen.
VCT Brazil shows how powerful LOUD still is
The second place team in the world from 2022 Stage 1 Masters is returning to Stage 2 Masters. LOUD yet again had a perfect stage, their second in a row heading into an international competition.
