Throughout its more than 35-year history, the Street Fighter series has introduced a wide array of playable fighters. The iconic fighting game franchise has given players a great deal of freedom in expressing their playstyle by finding a character that suits the way they want to play the game.
Street Fighter 6 will be no different. Of the 22 playable characters confirmed for the game so far, seven of them are brand new additions to the series. Here’s an overview of what you should know about all of the new fighters in Street Fighter 6.
New fighters in Street Fighter 6
Jamie
Jamie Siu is a fighter from Hong Kong who is nicknamed the Peacekeeping Breakdancer. He is the rival of the main protagonist of Street Fighter 6, Luke Sullivan. Jamie fights with an unpredictable style by mixing drunken boxing with spin kicks and other dance maneuvers.
JP
Johann “JP” Pavlovich is a well-dressed Russian fighter who appears to be one of the older characters in the Street Fighter 6 cast. He does much of his fighting with a cane, but he also stores power in his free hand. While he usually hides that hand behind his back, he can use it to summon portals and use other types of magical abilities that can assist him in a fight.
Kimberly
Kimberly Jackson is also one of the new fighters in Street Fighters 6. She is a black teenager from the United States who is notable for both her impressive intellect and fighting capabilities. Kimberly trained under Guy and employs many of his ninjutsu tactics as a result.
Lily
Lily is an indigenous Mexican and a member of T. Hawk’s Thunderfoot tribe. She is able to speak to nature and is a potent fighter despite her small stature. Lily wields a pair of pogamoggan clubs that she uses in a similar manner to T. Hawk.
Manon
The line-up of new fighters in Street Fighter 6 also includes Manon, otherwise known as the Judoka Ballet Dancer. As her nickname suggests, this Frenchwoman uses an interesting mix of judo and ballet. As a result, Manon can hit hard with her throws at a close range while also poking at opponents from afar with her long, graceful legs.
Marisa
Marisa is a character from Italy who is known as the Glory Seeker. She stands a whopping 6 feet, 8 inches tall, making her the tallest female fighter in the Street Fighter series by eight inches. At 269 pounds, she is also the heaviest woman in the series by more than 100 pounds. Marisa’s daunting stature is complemented by her powerful Greco-Roman wrestling style.
A.K.I.
While the other new Street Fighter 6 fighters are all in the base roster of the game, A.K.I. will be the first newcomer to join the roster as a downloadable character. Not much is currently known about A.K.I. other than the fact that she hails from China. She also sports long claws on both hands that she can use to her advantage in battle.
