Call of Duty is one of the longest-standing series in the history of competitive video games. With Activision publishing a new title just about every year, the list of all Call of Duty games is constantly expanding.

As a result, it can be hard to keep track of where the series has been and where it’s heading. For those looking for a bit of a retrospective, here’s an overview of all of the games in the Call of Duty series and when their release dates were.

The Call of Duty franchise is approaching its 20th year of existence, making it an icon of both the esports world and the first-person shooter world. It is also a far-reaching series, with main games and spin-off games alike available on multiple different consoles.

Many Call of Duty games have connected timelines, such as the Modern Warfare games and the Black Ops games. Meanwhile, others are completely independent standalone titles (at least for the time being). Despite often having different development teams, all of the Call of Duty games have familiar gameplay elements that have allowed the series to survive and thrive for this long.
