On Tuesday, Activision released a brand new gameplay snippet for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that showed off a portion of the Campaign. This advertisement only ran on Facebook and Instagram, and while there wasn’t much to see gameplay-wise, we did get a sneak peek at the apparent AC-130 killstreak that looks to be returning in Modern Warfare 2.

The AC-130 is among the most popular killstreaks in Call of Duty history. It also happens to be one of the strongest. The streak lets players operate a gunship that can shoot enemies on the ground with rockets and a machine gun. Players don’t get to control the actual plane, though, as it goes around a loop on the map. In Modern Warfare 2019, the AC-130 was reintroduced as the Gunship killstreak, which was also the name it took in Black Ops Cold War.

In Modern Warfare 2, we aren’t sure what the AC-130 will be called. However, we do know that the streak will at least make an appearance in the Campaign, with an entry among the multiplayer killstreaks extremely likely. Below, fans can see the new gameplay snippet of the MW2 Campaign. The footage of the AC-130 starts at around the nine-second mark.

If players missed it, the AC-130 can be seen being called in by an Operator. Then, a large plane is seen in the sky and seconds later, there’s a map of the ground below with rockets being fired at it. If this isn’t the AC-130 killstreak, then it’s something extremely close to it.

It’s not confirmed whether or not the AC-130 will be included in MW2 multiplayer. Some aspects of a Call of Duty Campaign are sometimes left out of MP. We don’t expect that to be the case with the AC-130, though. Activision might show off the killstreak themselves at Call of Duty Next, which begins next week. Fans might also get to use the killstreak during the multiplayer beta, which also starts next week.
