10 fun FM24 Netflix and mobile clubs to manage

Luton Town

Did you know that the away entrance to Luton Town’s stadium, Kenilworth Road, is between some houses? Isn’t that crazy? Anyway, Luton Town are back in the top flight of English football for the first time since 1992, and your job is to keep them there.

Yes, their finances are just okay, and you’re one of the weakest teams in the division, but that’s part of the fun. Make shrewd signings, build your team up slowly, and see if you can challenge the big boys at the top of the table.

Inter Miami CF

Inter Miami CF is becoming Barcelona’s Old Boys, and that’s why it’s fun to take over. With Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, Luis Suarez, and the GOAT Lionel Messi, you can relive the 2010s glory days of Barca with an American twist.

Of course, managing in MLS comes with its own unique challenges, such as the salary cap, but learn to balance your budget and you could have a lot of fun on your hands—until they all retire, at least.

Aberdeen

Scottish football has long been a two-horse race between Celtic and Rangers, but it’s time to break up that monopoly once again. It’s been almost 40 years since The Dons, managed by a young Sir Alex Ferguson, broke up the Old Firm domination, and your job is to do it again.

Aberdeen had a string of second-place finishes in the 2010s and finished third in 2022/23, so they’re no strangers to the sharp end of the Scottish Premiership. Finish the job.

Paris FC

No, I’m not talking about Paris Saint-Germain here, I’m talking about Ligue 2’s Paris FC. Living in the shadow of their giant rivals, could you be the gaffer to take this struggling side back into Ligue 1 for the first time since 1979, and then dethrone PSG as Paris’ top club?

It certainly won’t be easy, but then again, nothing worth doing ever is. Show Mbappe who’s the real boss of the French capital.

AC Milan

If you think about success in the Champions League, you have to talk about AC Milan. I Rossoneri have lifted the legendary European Cup on seven occasions, but haven’t gotten their hands on it since 2007. Since then, the red half of Milan have struggled and had ten years without a Serie A title.

Your job is to permanently reestablish AC Milan as a powerhouse of Italian and European football, and bring the Champions League back to the San Siro.

Birmingham City

Birmingham City won the League Cup in 2011, beating Arsenal 2-1 in Wembley Stadium, and then immediately got relegated to the Championship. Since then, the Blues have spent more time fighting off relegation to League 1 than fighting for a Premier League return.

With new owners, including legendary NFL QB Tom Brady, things are finally looking up, but they need a manager to take control and build them back towards a Premier League return. Can you do that job?

Ajax

If you follow Dutch football, you know that the 2023/24 season has been a nightmare for the Amsterdam club. Currently sitting fifth in the Eredivisie, Ajax have yet to recover from the summer of 2022, when they lost head coach Erik Ten Hag and an abundance of players, including Lisandro Martinez, Sebastien Haller, and Ryan Gravenberch.

Known for bringing young talent through, Ajax need a calming influence to steady the ship and take them back to Europe’s top table.

Loughgall FC

Loughgall FC holds a very specific record in European football currently: With a population of just under 300, Loughgall is the smallest place on the continent to host a top-flight football club. I can confirm this too, as I’ve been at their ground twice this season.

Loughgall are back in the Northern Irish Premiership for the first time since 2007, but staying there is going to be tough. Moving up the table will be even harder, with clubs like Linfield, Glentoran, and Larne all plying their trade full-time, while Loughgall remains semi-professional. You’ll really have to build this club from the ground up, but the reward will be huge.

FC Schalke 04

The story of Die Knappen is a sad one. Seven-times Bundesliga champions, Schalke found themselves in a financial crisis in 2020, and a run of 16 league games without a win saw them relegated to the second division.

They have struggled since, winning promotion back to the top flight just to head straight back down again. Can you solidify Schalke’s place in the Bundesliga, and lead them to their first top-flight crown since 1958?

Manchester United

Let’s be honest, Manchester United are not very good. I can say that honestly, as I’m a fan and watch them every week. It’s a struggle. Still, there are good players in this team, and surely another manager could get more out of them.

United have a big budget, a solid squad, and a ton of history. Your job is to knock City off their perch and restore the Red Devils to the summit of the Premier League.
